  • 10th Annual Book Fair

    “Contributing to spreading knowledge and culture and instilling the love of reading within the coming generations is part of the social responsibility of companies and foundations” Mr. Khalid Al Battal, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, stated in the opening ceremony of the 10th Annual Book Fair that took place on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016, at Dhahran Ahliyya Schools. The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of Al Khobar- Mr. Sulaiman Al Thunayan. This valuable fair annually gathers 45 publishing houses from different countries such as Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and Unites States of America. Mr. Al Battal thanked DAS faculty, staff and students for spreading the culture of reading and acquiring knowledge by organizing this fair. He also expressed his wishes that this fair fulfills its desired goals. Mr. Khalid Al Turki, DAS President, mentioned that this fair has been organized annually by DAS with the participation of a wide selection of publishing houses from all around the world. It includes about 9000 titles and 300.000 books in both Arabic and English languages. He said that he is pleased to organize this event which attracts a big number of visitors and publishing houses for the benefit of our students.
  • School, Parents and Community Partnership (Together)

    Sponsored by the Governor of Riyadh, the Ministry of Education held the Annual Conference entitled School, Parents and Community Partnership (Together ) The conference took place on Sunday and Monday, April 3-4, 2016. The conference aimed at reinforcing educational leaderships in order to create the Program of Partnership. It also aims at enabling parents to contribute in providing an appropriate educational environment in partnership with the community foundations. The conference addressed the theoretical concept of home-school partnership and the .positive impact of this partnership on students’ learning Experienced advisors and consultants from inside and outside the Kingdom presented their research projects and experiences in the field of education. Mrs. Muntaha Al Bluwi, DAS KG and Elementary Principal, and Mrs. Samia Al Dossary, the Responsible for Activities, shared Dhahran Ahliyya Schools’ experience in building partnership with parents and community.   • Sadim Al Nahdi The Youngest Saudi Author

    On Thursday and Friday, April 21-22, 2016, Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival hosted Sadim Al Nahdi (grade 5) as the Youngest Saudi Author participating in the festival. Sadim was also hosted in the Kids Creative Café “Cultural Café” for a meeting entitled ” The Champions of Intelligence”. This meeting highlighted the amazing talent in writing and excellence in Science in addition to a book signing ceremony for Sadim to sign her book in both Arabic and English
  • Arabic Reading Challenge

    On the level of Dhahran Ahliyya Schools, the following students qualified in the Arabic Reading Challenge. They will compete in the Office of Education in Khobar. We would like to congratulate our students who qualified on the level of the Eastern Province. Furthermore, Shahad Al Mutlaq, Grade 3, qualified to compete on the level of the Kingdom in the 2016 Arabic Reading Challenge. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the ‘Arab Reading Challenge,’ the largest Arab project to encourage students in the Arab world to read, with more than a million students committing to read 50 million extracurricular books during every academic year.   • Heba Essa Al Hoty Wins on the Level of Khobar

    On Thursday, March 31st, 2016, Heba Essa Al Hoty, grade 11 student “Diploma Stream”, participated in the Students’ Dialogue Competition in English in the Office of Education in Dammam. The topic was “Integrity Concepts”. On a happy note, Heba won the Fourth Place on the level of Khobar in this competition. Wishing her the best of luck.
  • Abdullah Rami Al Sada Wins the First Place in the Quran Competition

    Abdullah Rami Al Sada, DAS grade 7 student, won the First Place in the Quran Competition (level 5) of the Eastern Province. The honoring ceremony took place on Thursday, May 5th, 2016, in the Directorate of Education. It was organized by the Administration of Islamic Awareness. Congratulations to Abdullah and his family.
  • Math National Olympiad Spring Forum (MAWHIBA)

    As part of the International Training Program from King Abdul-Aziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (MAWHIBA), the Kingdom-Wide Spring Forum for Math Olympiad took place on March 11-19, 2016, at MAWHIBA Center in Riyadh.   • Egypt VEX Robotics Competition

    Dhahran Ahliyya School’s Boys’ high school robotics team participated in Egypt VEX Robotics Competition that took place on Friday and Saturday, March 11-12, 2016, in Cairo, Egypt. Our team competed among another 45 teams from all around the Arab World. We are proud that DAS team received the 3rd Place Arab-wide and the 1st Place among the participating Saudi teams. Also, our team received the Award of Determination and Ability to Overcome Challenges. This award is presented for the first time in VEX Robotics Competitions. DAS team consisted of: Faisal Al Saeed, Abdulrahman Haidar and Fahad Al Ajmi from Grade 10, and the teacher supervising the team: Mr. Tamer Gadallah. Congratulations wishing our students success in the coming Competition.
  • Two DAS Boys to Harvard Summer School 2016

    It is with great honor DAS announces that two of its Grade 11 male students Faisal Adel Al Dossary – Oby Essam Tawfiq have been awarded full scholarship to the Harvard Summer School 2016. Both of our students will be attending the Secondary School Program from MISK Foundation. This program offers College courses for credit in a seven-week session. This opportunity will propel them towards success in college. Thus, these two students will join the two girl students who were qualified to attend this program previously and this was announced earlier. Congratulations.
  • Rania Al Ghamdi Joins a Training Program for MAWHIBA Top Students

    Rania Al Ghamdi, DAS Grade 11 student, has been accepted to join an extensive training program to prepare and qualify MAWHIBA top students. Rania has been selected to join this program among a group of MAWHIBA male and female student who are interested to join scholarships in the prestigious American universities. MAWHIBA international programs offered the first of training workshop during the spring break from March 12th – 18th, 2016, at MAWHIBA Center in Riyadh. Rania will also attend the second training workshop during the summer from August 30th - September 3rd, 2016. This program is offered by MAWHIBA in cooperation with Ivy League Advisor, a specialized company in students’ academic consultations for the students who are interested to continue their studying in the United States of America. This company also helps the students to complete the admission procedures and requirements in the American universities. It is a one year program that starts from the second semester in grade 11 until the student gets admitted to the university. Congratulations for Rania wishing her the best of luck.
  • DAS Achieve the Top-Three Places in Ibda’a 2016 Olympiad

    Organized by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity (Mawhiba), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Kingdom -wide National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity for 2016,– Innovation and Scientific Research Fields, took place from March 3-5, at Princess Nourah University in Riyadh. 148 male and female students took part in this round of the Olympiad with 120 scientific projects. 1 male student and 4 from female students from Dhahran Ahliyya Schools qualified to take part in this round with a total of 5 scientific projects after passing the three phases of electronic evaluation along with the region-wide electronic nominations. Proceeding to their victory at the level of the Eastern Province, 3 DAS students won the top-three places and qualified to compete and represent DAS and our Kingdom in the World-Wide Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF 2016), which will take place in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.   • MAWHIBA International Summer Programs

    For the 12 consecutive year, a group of grades 11 and 12 students from Dhahran Ahliyya Boys’ School were selected to participate in 2016 Mawhiba International Summer Program. This program grants the students summer scholarships for enrichment programs in the most renowned international universities. In order to qualify, DAS students had to successfully pass the English STEP and the Mawhiba tests. MAWHIBA International Summer Programs aim at preparing Saudi students to enroll in the top international universities. They also aim at boosting high school students’ research abilities in fields of Math, Science and Engineering. Some of the qualified students will join summer programs at international universities outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.   • Three DAS Students Qualified to Compete Province-Wide

    In the National Olympiad for Science and Math, three DAS female students passed the 1st Math test on the level of Khobar on Monday and Tuesday, January 25-26, 2016. The students took this test along with a total of 290 candidates form Elementary and 280 candidates form Intermediate. Therefore, our students qualified to compete on the level of level of the Eastern Province. The students are: Reem Ali Al Ashban - Grade 5Suha Omar Al Nahdi – Grade 6Thuraya Hassan Sabri – Grade 7 This Olympiad is organized by the Ministry of Education for youths the purpose of building a creative generation and preparing the students to interact and compete locally and globally.   • Math, Science, Chemistry and Physics National Olympiad

    Organized by the Ministry of Education, the National Math, Science, Chemistry and Physics Olympiad test took place on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 on the level of the Eastern province. In the Math stream, Abdullah Murad Al Sayed, DAS grade 11 student, successfully passed the test and qualified to continue the competition on the level of the Kingdom. The total number of qualified students from the Eastern province is 21 students. Congratulations to Abdullah wishing him the best of luck.
  • Two DAS Students will Participate in the Gulf Youth and Development Conference

    The Ministry of Education nominated two DAS students to participate and represent Dhahran Ahliyya Schools and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Youth and Development Conference for GCC Countries.   • Yasmine Al Saif Makes a New Accomplishment

    Yasmine Al Saif, Dhahran Ahliyya Schools’ Grade 11 student, received the Second Place in the Biomedical and Health Field in the 2015 Arab Intel Science and Engineering Competition. This competition took place in Alexandria, Egypt from December 17-19, 2015. Yasmine’s achievement came as one of Saudi Arabia’s achievements in this competition. The Ministry of Education in partnership with MAWHIBA represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi team consisted of 8 students. In this competition 77 research projects from 11 Arab countries were presented. The Saudi team won the First Five Places and One Special Award. Congratulations.
  • “Saving Lives” Training Workshop

    Organized by the Directorate of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province, 28 DAS high school students competed a CPR workshop entitled “Saving Lives” on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015, at the Le Méridien Hotel in Al Khobar. This workshop included a short movie about the basics of CPR. Under the supervision of professional trainees, the students conducted the necessary steps to recover the patient’s consciousness. The students will definitely share what they have learned with their peers in the future.
  • Qiyas Excellence Award

    We are proud that Dhahran Ahliyya Schools, received Qiyas Excellence Award among all the government and private schools Kingdom-wide for the third consecutive time. This award came as a result of our students maintaining a high level of performance in the General Aptitude Tests (Qudarat) for the three consecutive years.This award is supervised by the National Center for Assessment in the Ministry of Education. The award was received in a ceremony held in Riyadh on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015.
  • Mawhiba Training Program 2016 National Math Olympiads (4)

    After performing the second session test in which 8 DAS students from Upper Elementary and Intermediate successfully passed and represented Dhahran Ahliyya Schools, those 8 students joined an extensive Mathematics training workshop from Wednesday-Saturday, November 25-28, 2015. After that, all the province-wide qualified students performed the Second Session Exam on Thursday, November 30, 2015. On a happy note, 2 DAS students successfully passed this test. These two student qualified to join 2016 Kingdom-Wide Winter Forum. Therefore, the 2 students joined DAS team who qualified last year to compete in this forum which will take place from April 8-17, 2016, in Riyadh. We are pleased to announce that Dhahran Ahliyya’s students represent 100% of all the qualified student from the Eastern Province as DAS is the only school who will represent the Eastern Province in this coming forum.     Fulfilling Dhahran Ahliyya’s mission in shaping aware generations who acquire successful life and work skills, Dhahran Ahliyya School, Boys’ section, received the First Places for the Highest Percentage of Students’ Attendance from week 1 until week 12 among the government and private schools on the level of Dhahran.
