DAS does not guarantee admission into our school. Depending on the availability of seats, DAS will provide our employees with a 50% discount on DAS tuition for up to 3 children. Our school is a dual-language school which requires all its students to be fluent in both Arabic & English. If your child does not write or speak in both languages fluently, they will struggle to succeed at our school. All students entering DAS must take and pass the appropriate grade level entrance exam. While our area does have several British, American, and international curriculum schools, DAS does not provide any tuition support. The school is open from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday. Students are in session from 7:15 am until 2:45 pm (KG ends at 12:30 pm). On Tuesdays we have early dismissal for students at 1:00 pm, but staff stay in school for training and preparation until 3:00 pm. There are a few times throughout the year where our training will take place until 4:00 pm on Tuesday’s or will require a Saturday attendance for a few hours.
Weekly teaching loads will not exceed 24 periods. Class sizes vary by grade, but the average is approximately 26 students.
Our calendar is regulated by the Ministry of Education, so breaks may vary from year to year. Current Ministry guidelines set the school year at 13 weeks of instruction per term, including time allocated for final exams. We always provide at least one week of break between terms, and at least one week for each of the two government-mandated Eid holidays.
Our staff receive competitive salaries which include housing (if not taking DAS accommodation) and transportation allowances, health insurance (medical & dental*), DAS tuition discount for up to 3 children to attend DAS, end of service and additional incentives for contributions in specialized programs and achievements.
* Eligibility for female staff requires they are not already receiving from their husband or father.
DAS staff lead and support over 40 after-school activities, including our award-winning programs like Model UN and Robotics. Teachers also mentor students in community service projects, such as Week Without Walls, and participate in friendly competitions through the Dammam Private School League (DPSL) with 20+ local schools.

Climate and Seasons. Summers are very hot, with average highs reaching 43°C (109°F) in June thru September. During the rest of the year, there are more moderate temperatures of 24℃ (75.2℉) to 28℃ (82.4℉) and occasional rain.
