Dhahran Ahliyya Schools* is a candidate school for the Career-related Programme. The school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. What is Career-related Programme?
The most recent addition to the International Baccalaureate (IB) is the Career-related Programme, known as the IB Career-related Certicate. Its primary objective is to oer students aged 16 to 19 a range of pathways to choose from. In the Career-related Programme, students are required to study the following:
1. a minimum of three Diploma Programme courses
2. the unique Career-related Programme core
3. career-related studies
IB CP Core Elements:
The core elements of the Career-related Programme form its central foundation and aim to enrich students' personal qualities and professional growth. These core components contextualize the Diploma Programme courses and the career-related study, bringing together all aspects of the framework. Moreover, the core is specically designed to foster the development of various characteristics and attributes described in the IB learner prole. It is important to note that all core elements are compulsory and include Personal and professional skills in the IB CP programme encompass critical thinking, communication, collaboration, self-management, and ethical decision-making, preparing students for success in various contexts. Service learning involves students addressing community needs while enhancing their own learning and personal growth, fostering civic engagement and social responsibility. Language development focuses on enhancing prociency in a third language, promoting communication skills, cultural awareness, and intercultural understanding. The Reflective Project is an independent research project that allows students to investigate an ethical issue of personal interest, promoting critical thinking, research, and re‑ection skills.
