Vice President of Academic Affairs
Rola Abu Sager is the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Dhahran Ahliyya Schools, Girls Section. She is an educational leader with more than twenty years of experience in teaching and leadership roles.
Ms. Abu Sager earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Technology from the University of Cincinnati (US) and Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati (US).
In her expansive career, Ms. Abu Sager has been positively and efficiently involved in a variety of roles such as classroom teacher, homeroom teacher, education developer, school leader, and is currently the academic and professional consultant.
As a leader passionate about serving all students, Ms. Abu Sager strongly believes in the holistic development of the child which includes not just academic education, but also the child’s physical, emotional, and social well-being. Keeping this motto in mind, Ms. Abu Sager takes great initiatives in encouraging teachers and staff growth by supporting continuous professional development. She contributes to teacher development by leading several professional training courses for teachers such as the IB Inquiry Based learning, 21st Century teaching skills, and other related IB training courses. Her role as an academic consultant entails setting measurable goals for school and monitor progress towards these goals, overseeing school systems, practices and assessment cycles and monitor constant data to drive student success.
As an education developer, Ms. Abu Sager has led two schools in Saudi Arabia through the IB PYP, MYP, and DP authorization processes and worked on professional development of the faculty and staff. She has been approved by IB to participates as an IB team leader evaluated to schools in IB Africa, Europe, Middle (AEM) region
In her role at DAS, Ms. Abu Sager actively participates with the leadership team in the accreditation process with Cognia. In addition to this Ms. Abu Sager participated in the CIS accreditation leading committees. As a part of these committees, she has been able to play a vital role in developing and contributing to the schools’ strategic planning along with improving student’s achievements.
