Vice President of Academic Affairs
Mr. Bilal El Bacha is the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Dhahran Ahliyya Schools – Boys Section, where he leads teaching and learning, teachers’ professional learning and evaluation, and curriculum design and development.
As the chief academic officer, he supervises all school curricular affairs including IBPYP, IBMYP, IBDP, IBCP, AP, and other by providing leadership , vision and evaluation of all school’s academics and professional development. He joined Dhahran Ahliyya Schools in 2014 as the Head of the International Secondary Program after spending 15 years of teaching, heading Research and Development and participating in multiple activities and initiatives in educational reform, organizational transformation, curriculum design and professional development.
He participated and led work in curricular and co-curricular affairs, strategic planning, instructional coaching, professional learning, and school reform. He works closely with multiple international communities including the International Baccalaureate, College Board, and others. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Teaching Diploma from the American University of Beirut.
As an educator, he is very passionate about designing, delivering and developing quality education that profiles life-long learning innovators who care about human beings and the earth. This ongoing mission honors the development of learning and innovation competencies as being transferrable across technologies, contexts and time. In his practice, this is grounded in an interactive leadership model of leading learning, staff, innovation and change.
